In July 2022, the Uniform Law Commission (ULC)) approved the Uniform Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act (UEEPDA) and recommended it for enactment in all 50 states. UEEPDA smooths the path for states to effectively and efficiently enact legislation permitting the electronic execution of all trust-related documents and other non-testamentary estate-planning documents.

The speakers will examine UEEPDA, what the sample legislation contains as well as what it omits. They’ll also highlight opportunities for states to enact companion legislation to best meet the circumstances specific to each state and highlight a few questions about the practical implications of relying on UEEPDA in daily practice.
